Press release: Prince

Studying and living like a prince in the heart of Antwerp

Antwerp – XL Fund renovated the former peda Ten Prinsenhove and breathes new air into the life of Antwerp university students. The new Prince student tower has 156 student dwellings according to a new housing typology, where in addition to traditional housing, there’s also room for a broader target group: visiting professors, young professionals, short-stay in the summer period, etc. Prince will welcome its first residents in February 2021.

Leasehold UA Antwerp

In 2018, the UAntwerp Executive Council decided to grant the Ten Prinsenhove residence on a fifty-year-long lease to LIFE. In the meantime, a broad and long-term collaboration between Xior and real estate developer LIFE arose, in the form of the XL Fund (90% Xior, 10% LIFE), in which each party can operate in its full capacity. Operationally, the students will be in the good hands of experienced manager Xior, which already has more than 15,000 student rooms in 30 different cities under its wings.

“We were thrilled that we could get to work on this beautiful student monument. Two years later and after a beautiful collaboration with UAntwerpen, we can now proudly welcome students to the building,” explains Toon Haverals, CEO of LIFE.be.

Next level student living

Prince owes its name to a unique location, in the heart of the student district where streets are named after kings, princes and princesses. Its ideal location is not its only asset. “From the 4th and 5th floors you have an exceptional panoramic view over the city, no Antwerp icon escapes the watchful eye of Prince”, explains the CEO of LIFE.be, Toon Haverals. “All tenants of the new residential tower have the Antwerp skyline as a canvas, and can enjoy 360° views in the sky lounge.”

A new generation of living

With the new student project, XL Fund wants to excel in variety. Thus, in addition to the average student, (visiting) professors, tourists, exchange students and summer course students are also welcome to rent a room for a short period. “We provide different types of rooms: from friends rooms where you can stay with friends or fellow students to sky rooms that are more luxuriously equipped.”

The different room types with common areas such as fitness and meeting rooms, kitchens, rooftop terrace and sky lounge combined with flexible rental agreements, ensure that Prince can be a home for everyone.

“Prince is for like-minded people who are looking for a balance between the privacy of their unit, combined with common areas that provide a uniquely enhanced quality of life and social contacts, which we all can appreciate these days,” Haverals concludes.

As the icing on the cake, maximum effort is being put into a digital platform where residents can find out the latest news, get in touch with each other in an accessible way and take their own initiatives to make their stay even more unique and affordable.

The 156 brand new student rooms are available for rent as from February 1st 2021 and with a price starting at 400€/month. More information on availability and prices can be found on prince-antwerp.be.
